Senior Engineer

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Engineer to work with the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Project .

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Site Engineer:

1. Act as the single point of contact for all Site Engineering works on the project, liaising with Site Management, Designers, Site Engineers, and Clients.
2. Be competent in the use of surveying equipment such as Total Stations, GPS, levels, etc., for setting out and as-built information.
3. Liaise with Permanent Works Designers to raise technical queries and undertake constructability reviews.
4. Act as the Temporary Works Co-Ordinator for the project, producing design briefs, undertaking constructability reviews of TW designs, and ensuring TWS’ are undertaking inspections as required.
5. Produce quality documentation such as ITPs that are in compliance with client specifications and relevant codes and standards.
6. Ensure engineering deliverables for on-site works are completed in good time to allow works to progress in line with the programme.
7. Supervise, assist, and mentor junior site engineers and help in their development as site engineers.
8. Carry out quality inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan, recording relevant information promptly.
9. Ensure engineering equipment is calibrated, in date, and suitable, checked according to company policies and manufacturer’s requirements.
10. Undertake material take-offs from drawings, ensure all materials ordered to site are suitable, stored correctly, and meet contract specifications or project requirements.

• Experience in Construction or Civil Engineering projects.
• Experience with ITPs, Temporary Works, Red Line/As Built Drawings.
• Excellent knowledge of current civil engineering legislation, as well as Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Ability and confidence to discuss engineering issues across various levels and disciplines.
• Formal qualification in Engineering or Construction subjects.
• 10 years of experience in a site-based engineering role.
