Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Engineer to work with Natural Resources on Peterborough Compressor Station.
We maintain, operate, modify, design, construct, and commission new energy networks and facilities across four countries; guiding our customers through the challenges of the energy transition and supporting their commitments to achieve net zero emissions. We provide safe and reliable specialist services as a trusted Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Maintenance, and Decommissioning (EPFCM&D) partner. This includes work with onshore and offshore oil, gas pipelines, gas diversions, and renewable energies.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Site Engineer:
- Act as the single point of contact for all Site Engineering works on the project, liaising with Site Management, Designers, Site Engineers, and Clients.
- Competent in the use of surveying equipment such as Total Stations, GPS, levels, etc., for setting out and as-built information.
- Liaise with Permanent Works Designers to raise technical queries and undertake constructability reviews.
- Act as the Temporary Works Co-Ordinator for the project, producing design briefs, undertaking constructability reviews of temporary works designs, and ensuring inspections are carried out as required.
- Produce quality documentation such as Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) that are in compliance with client specifications and relevant codes and standards.
- Ensure engineering deliverables for on-site works are completed on time to allow progress in line with the programme.
- Supervise, assist, and mentor junior site engineers and support their development.
- Carry out quality inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan, recording relevant information promptly.
- Ensure engineering equipment is calibrated, within date, and checked according to company policies and manufacturer requirements.
- Undertake material take-offs from drawings, ensure all materials ordered are suitable, stored correctly, and meet contract specifications or project requirements.

- Formal qualification in Engineering or Construction subjects.
