Overview
Our client is looking to appoint a talented Structural Engineer to join their growing structural engineering team. They are considering candidates up to senior engineer level. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer seeking greater responsibility, autonomy and a clear route for career progression within a highly respected consultancy.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from initial concept through to construction, leading technical delivery while acting as the key point of contact for clients, architects, contractors and wider design teams. Working across a diverse portfolio of building structures projects, you will be involved in the design and assessment of steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures, including new-build, refurbishment and heritage schemes. This role requires a confident engineer who can manage projects independently, oversee programmes and quality standards, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Strong technical capability is essential, alongside the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have a solid background in structural design within a consultancy environment. Experience using industry-standard analysis and design software is expected, together with a strong understanding of Eurocodes and UK Building Regulations. Exposure to BIM-led projects, refurbishment works or conservation projects would be advantageous, as would progress towards Chartered status.
