Based in Fareham, Hampshire, we deliver a wide range of projects across the UK and abroad, including inspection, design, repair, construction, and maintenance of marine infrastructure. Our work involves technically complex and often challenging engineering projects where safety, quality, and commercial performance are critical.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified Graduate in Civil Engineering to join our company. It may be of particular interest to someone seeking to accelerate their development within a contractor environment. Constructex adopts an engineer‑led approach to delivering technically complex and challenging marine and civil engineering projects, providing graduates with the opportunity to gain experience across both design and delivery.

You will be involved in the inspection, design, feasibility, tendering, and management of maritime civil engineering projects. You will work closely with Senior Engineers, Dive Supervisors, Project Managers, and other members of on‑site and project teams. Graduates will build strong technical foundations while also gaining early experience in programming, procurement, commercial management, and site operations. This breadth of responsibility supports rapid professional development and provides an excellent platform for working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status at an early stage in their career.

This is a fully in‑person role, primarily based in our offices in Fareham, Hampshire, but with travel to site locations where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the planning and management of larger projects, including specifications and tenders, while working closely with Senior Engineers, Dive Supervisors and Project Teams.
  • Planning and managing smaller projects, including inspections and repair works, taking full responsibility to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Developing your technical engineering skills to assist in the design and analysis of complex maritime structures.
  • Developing and maintaining strong business relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities for new products and services which drive quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Awareness of and commitment to health and safety in compliance with legislation, site rules, and company procedures.
  • Assisting in the development of risk assessments, method statements, and project plans.

Key Requirements

  • Essential Right to Work in the UK without a requirement for a visa.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering accredited by the Engineering Council.
  • An enthusiasm for maritime civil engineering.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An awareness of and dedication to safe working practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive and enthusiasm to take on new challenges, build relationships, and maintain effective internal and external networks.
  • An ability to create clear and accurate project plans and track their progress against milestones.
  • A full UK driving licence or equivalent, with a willingness to travel to site projects as needed.

  • Intending to progress toward professional registration and willing and capable of applying for CEng from ICE and/or IStructE.
  • An interest in maritime civil engineering projects and commercial diving operations.
  • An interest in working for a SME and becoming involved in all areas of the business.
