Our client is a prominent name in construction with a healthy orderbook of interesting and challenging projects. They are currently seeking an engineering manager to head the structures team, acting as the go-to engineering specialist offering insight and guidance on complex technical matters.
You will confidently engage with client teams, ensuring alignment with the project goals and will produce detailed reports and supporting documentation for your professional recommendations.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively addressing engineering challenges to prevent operational disruptions, ensuring adherence to the quality management system, and implementing necessary project plans.
- Handling critical engineering issues on-site, offering alternative perspectives when needed, and ensuring that the operational team is fully informed and aligned.
- Leading and managing the engineering team to ensure that the skills and expertise match the project's requirements.
- Provide support and development opportunities for engineers, aligning with their personal growth plans.
- Reviewing internal proposals from site and tender teams, assessing potential changes from initial assumptions, and evaluating the commercial impact of any alterations.
- Identifying and driving value engineering opportunities to optimize project delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with established design check procedures for both in-house and outsourced temporary works, following the relevant guidelines.
- Chartered Engineer with a recognised professional body such as ICE, IStructE, or equivalent.
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience working in consulting, construction, and client-side teams, with a strong background in project engineering and management.
