Murphy is recruiting for an Engineering Manager to work with the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework .

We deliver Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects for both regulated and private customers, along with technical and engineering solutions within conventional power and energy transition markets. A day in the life of a Murphy Engineering Manager:

  1. Assist with temporary works design schemes.
  2. Maintain good working relations with clients, designers, team members, and supply chain partners.
  3. Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques.
  4. Ensure drawings and specifications contain sufficient, accurate information for construction; formally request missing information promptly to avoid delays.
  5. Communicate effectively with foremen and supervisors to ensure understanding of provided information.
  6. Oversee the selection and requisition of materials and plant for construction.
  7. Prepare risk assessments and method statements for work control.
  8. Maintain a detailed daily site diary, recording changes, subcontractor attendance, and discussions with clients and the project team.
  9. Ensure inspection and test plans are completed according to PMP/Specification, including dimension and quality checks.
