OpportunityWe have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Drainage Engineer to join our Consulting Highways team. With shared office space in Sheffield, we welcome applications from Drainage Engineers across the region.
Responsibilities
Work in a team, producing technically sound engineering solutions
Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables that satisfy the criteria of quality, cost and programme
Oversee the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and take responsibility for their actions
Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attend progress meetings and respond to queries
Manage a small, locally based single discipline technical team and take responsibility for delivery of their workload
Contribute to the preparation of bids and the general working winning function
Drive effective health and safety practices within the team
What You Will Bring To Us
Developed experience and expertise within the Highways/Civil engineering field, probably gained in an Assistant Engineer role or equivalent
Comprehensive knowledge of drainage design processes and procedures relevant to the civil engineering discipline
An ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements
Experience in undertaking project related tasks associated with health, safety and welfare, e.g. Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
Successful completion of the initial professional development leading to either Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence and to the level defined by their education
A demonstrable commitment to their plan of actions and key dates leading to successful completion of either the professional review or the end‐point assessment, resulting in the award of Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence
Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning
EngTech status is desirable, gained through the professional institution to which the individual is aligned
