Civil Engineer – Glasgow

We are looking for a motivated, degree-qualified Civil Engineer to join an established and growing engineering consultancy based in central Glasgow. The role requires a strong technical and commercial mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a diverse engineering design team.

While rail experience is advantageous, it is not essential. A significant portion of this role will involve working within the civils team, so you should have experience in designing one or more of the following:

  • Slope stability
  • Foundation design
  • Ground anchors
  • Gravity and embedded retaining walls
  • Formwork and working platforms
  • Culvert designs
  • Report writing

The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background and be proficient in using MS Office, AutoCAD, Strand 7 (or equivalent FE analysis software), and Slope/W (or equivalent). Familiarity with Eurocodes, British Standards, and CDM Regulations is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake both concept and detailed design work
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emerging project requirements
  • Communicate design ideas through clear, well-presented drawings
  • Work efficiently to meet project deadlines
  • Conduct technical reviews of designs

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (ideally BEng/MEng, minimum 2:1)
  • Working towards membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
  • Clean driving licence
