Civil Design Engineer
Colchester
£40k-£45k plus benefits
Our client, a respected engineering consultancy based in Colchester, is seeking a Civil Design Engineer with a minimum of two years\’ UK-based design experience to join their growing infrastructure team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career professional looking to broaden their technical expertise whilst contributing to a wide variety of civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will work independently on smaller schemes and play a key role within larger multidisciplinary teams under the guidance of senior engineers and directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to and manage civil design projects across residential, education, urban regeneration, and public realm sectors
- Prepare flood risk assessments and develop sustainable drainage strategies (SuDS)
- Produce detailed designs for earthworks, highways, and infrastructure
- Support applications and agreements including S104, S106, S38, S278, and build-over consents
- Collaborate with structural teams on integrated developments
Technical Skills & Requirements:
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civils 3D, PDS, and MicroDrainage (Windes)
- Sound knowledge of UK standards and design regulations
- Comfortable managing project deadlines and client expectations
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
