An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Structural Engineer to join a highly respected multidisciplinary consultancy based in Cheltenham. Working with a diverse portfolio of clients across the UK and internationally, this role offers the chance to become involved in an impressive range of projects, from complex large-scale developments and refurbishment schemes through to bespoke structural solutions for local clients.
Our client has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions across a variety of sectors, including motorsport, aviation, education, commercial development, local government, and construction. This position would suit an ambitious engineer who enjoys technical challenges, thrives in a collaborative environment and is keen to play a key role in the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing structural designs in response to client briefs
- Producing detailed engineering calculations in accordance with Eurocodes
- Utilising the latest 3D design software to deliver practical and efficient solutions
- Contributing to coordinated BIM-led project delivery
- Supporting the production of detailed drawings and specifications for tender and construction purposes
- Conducting construction inspections, progress monitoring and structural assessments of existing buildings
- Undertaking surveys, investigating structural defects and providing clear technical recommendations to clients and project teams
- Reviewing engineering documentation and ensuring technical quality and accuracy throughout project delivery
Our client is seeking an individual with a strong grounding in structural engineering principles, combined with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset. Candidates should hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and be actively progressing towards professional chartership. Previous experience within structural design, together with exposure to construction sites and project delivery, will be highly advantageous.
A solid understanding of Eurocodes and current industry regulations is essential, along with an appreciation of sustainability and its growing influence on structural design. Experience using industry-standard analysis and design software such as Tekla, MasterSeries, SCIA Engineer and TEDDS will be beneficial. Strong communication skills, particularly in report writing and technical documentation, are equally important.
