Our client is seeking a personable, self-motivated Associate Director Civil Engineer with a positive, professional attitude to manage the Civil and Structures group. This role involves collaborating across disciplines, maintaining excellent working relationships, and managing multiple projects under pressure to meet deadlines while ensuring technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and deliver civil and structural projects, ensuring efficient resource use, profitability, and adherence to deadlines
• Conduct engineering designs, from concept to detailed design, and ensure projects meet design briefs and technical standards
• Lead regular design reviews, ensuring technical compliance and high-quality standards across all projects
• Maintain and build strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business
• Develop business opportunities, contribute to presentations, and collaborate with teams to achieve business goals
• Manage, coach, and motivate staff, setting objectives and supporting their professional development
• Monitor project budgets, progress, and design variations, ensuring alignment with financial goals
• Implement quality assurance systems, health and safety procedures, and CDM regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• BEng, MSc, or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartered Engineer or actively working toward chartered status (ICE, IStructE, or similar)
• 8+ years\’ experience in a design consultancy, with strong project management skills
• Experience in the Data Centre industry is highly desirable
• Proficiency in MS Office, MicroStation, InRoads, and relevant engineering software
• PE license and experience managing civil/site design projects
• Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills
