We are looking for an Editorial Manager to lead the commissioning, creation, copy-editing, proofreading and production of NEC content in print and digital formats. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and accessibility of our content, while making sure to support TTL strategy and adhering to its vision and purpose of innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement. The role holder is expected to bring substantial and significant editorial experience and expertise to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Review, copy-edit and proofread content relating to NEC Contracts to ensure authority, accuracy and consistency.
  • Commission, draft, copy-edit and proofread content relating to NEC newsletters to ensure the same.
  • Oversee end-to-end editorial production, ensuring that updates and amendments are incorporated and released in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Content, the NEC Contract Board, internal stakeholders, external SMEs and production partners with a view to creating, refining and improving product content or concepts.
  • Provide editorial expertise to support content promotion with Marketing and Sales teams.
  • Help develop and manage content workflows, SOPs, and standardised formats and style guidelines across digital and print.
  • Support the customer queries inbox.

About You

  • Significant (5+ years) editorial experience in professional publishing.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and command of English.
  • A proven written and verbal ability to translate complex information into clear and consistent organised content, in the form of e.g. meeting notes, product summaries, and presentations.
  • Experience with CMS, MS Office, and editorial QA processes.
  • Bonus: XML/SGML, InDesign, Asana.
  • Strong communicator, proactive collaborator, and highly organised.
  • Degree in English, Law, Humanities or related field.
  • Additional languages an advantage.
  • Professional qualification in Law, Construction Management or a related field would be an advantage.
  • Subject matter knowledge of NEC Contracts an advantage.
