Headquarters to the Institution of Civil Engineers, One Great George Street is a historic Grade II listed conference, event and wedding venue located in the centre of Westminster. It offers 21 function rooms including the stunning Great Hall for up to 400 people and two fully-equipped lecture theatres. The venue offers great flexibility with in-house audio-visual expertise and outstanding in-house catering. Its award-winning team is committed to safe, flexible, sustainable and accessible events.
The Role: We are seeking a warm, professional, and service-oriented individual who thrives in a front-facing role. Our reception team are the welcoming face of our organisation, ensuring every visitor receives an exceptional experience from arrival to departure, maintaining our reputation as a preferred meetings and events venue. You will be part of a supportive team in an outstanding environment where your contribution truly matters. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a courteous and professional welcome to all guests, using names or appropriate titles where appropriate.
- Ensure the Reception area is always staffed, tidy, and presentable.
- Direct guests to the correct function rooms and respond to all inquiries with accuracy and efficiency.
- Recognise and accommodate VIPs and regular visitors.
- Liaise with Security regarding any concerns and maintain vigilance at all times.
- Assist Event Coordinators with any signage requests/amendments.
- Answer calls promptly and professionally, taking accurate messages and ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain and restock office supplies, manage taxi bookings, and support registration desks with emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with the House Operations Manager and wider team to ensure smooth daily operations.
