Senior Technician - Specialist Cleaning and Restoration

Pay £18 to £20 per hour

Location On the road, with travel across the UK when needed

Base Dartford, Kent

Contract Full-time

Hours 40 hours, plus an on-call rota for emergency work

ICE Cleaning provides specialist cleaning and restoration for homes, businesses and industrial sites. We are called in when something has gone badly wrong, from floods and fires to biohazards and chemical spills. Our technicians get the job done safely, find the cause, and help stop it happening again.

The role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technician to lead by example on site. You will carry out a wide range of remediation and restoration work, make sure every job is safe and compliant, and help train the assistant technicians on your team.

This is a hands-on role. Some days will be physical, and some jobs will be emergencies.

What you will do

• Carry out specialist work, including:
  • Mould remediation
  • Fire and flood restoration
  • Hoarding and biohazard cleaning
  • Oil and chemical spill response
• Follow company policies, procedures and safe systems of work on every site
• Deliver every job safely, to a high standard and on time
• Support and mentor assistant technicians, and help them build their skills
• Use power tools and carry out rip-outs, strip-outs and other physical restoration tasks
• Help with emergency call-outs and take part in the on-call rota
• Represent ICE Cleaning well on client sites, with clear communication and good customer service
• Work with colleagues to finish projects within agreed timescales

What you will need

• At least 2 years' experience in specialist cleaning and restoration
• Strong, practical knowledge of mould remediation, fire and flood restoration, biohazard cleaning, hoarding clearances and spill response
• A good understanding of health and safety and safe systems of work
• Confidence using power tools on site
• Good physical fitness for demanding manual work
• Willingness to travel across the UK when needed
• A full UK driving licence
• The right to work in the UK
• BDMA qualifications, or other recognised restoration and remediation certificates
