Role Overview

As a Hub Engineer, you will be tasked with fault finding on all Industrial Cleaning Equipment, except for the larger, more specialized machinery. You will repair and refurbish machines to set company quality standards and within defined timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all repair/refurbishment jobs are completed to set quality standards and defined criteria per machine “job family” and within time limits.
  • Test machines in line with company guidelines before delivery to customers to ensure quality criteria have been achieved.
  • Refurbish machines to set quality standards and guidelines, including spray painting, cosmetic repairs, and valeting.
  • Perform full fault diagnostics on machines to identify all repairs needed to meet the required standard, including identifying all necessary parts.
  • Order parts through SAGE for stock or to complete repairs.
  • Book in and out parts within SAGE, adhering to current company procedures.
  • Process the daily “Bucket List” to supply recycled parts to the Parts Department.
  • Prepare loan machines before dispatch to ensure they are fully operational.
  • Manage key job stacks in SAGE, within SLA’s, updating SAGE in real-time with full progression updates.
  • Ensure all machines and ancillaries are PA tested and correctly labelled before delivery to customers.
  • Follow all technician/engineer procedures, ensuring understanding and adherence.
  • Contribute to key process improvement initiatives.
  • Escalate any issues to your line manager or Head Office that may hinder your ability to fulfill the responsibilities detailed in this job description.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE level or above with a grade C (or equivalent) pass or above in English and Maths.
  • Electro/mechanical experience (fault finding and repair).
  • Relevant certifications or training in industrial equipment repair and maintenance (e.g., Certified Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing industrial cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, pressure washers, scrubbers, and sweepers.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in using tools and equipment commonly employed in equipment repair and maintenance, including diagnostic instruments, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory requirements governing industrial equipment servicing and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and processes for tracking spare parts and consumables.
  • Prior exposure to providing technical support and training to customers or colleagues on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong physical condition with the capability to perform manual handling duties, such as lifting heavy industrial battery packs.
  • Proficient IT skills, including proficiency in operating tablet devices.
