A well-established civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Portlaoise. This is a permanent role working on a range of infrastructure and utilities projects across the region.

Location: Portlaoise, Co. Laois

Salary: c. €70,000- €90,000 (doe)

Package: Company vehicle (car/van) and benefits

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets and cost plans
  • Assess subcontractor valuations and manage payments
  • Assist in the preparation of tenders and procurement strategies
  • Identify and manage commercial risks
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Provide accurate and timely cost reporting and forecasting

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a QS role, ideally within the civil engineering or utilities sector
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial processes
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Full driving licence
