Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers to join our construction team in London. As a Steel Fixer, you will play a crucial role in reinforcing and securing steel structures, ensuring the safety and stability of various construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Cut, bend, shape, and tie steel bars, mesh, and cables to reinforce concrete structures.
- Install steel rebar cages, beams, columns, and other steel components according to project requirements.
- Use hand and power tools to accurately position and secure steel reinforcements.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as engineers and supervisors, to ensure project specifications are met.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations on-site, promoting a safe working environment.
We offer competitive hourly rates of Β£23 per hour, commensurate with your skills and experience. This position provides an immediate start and offers long-term employment prospects for the right candidates.Duties:

- Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine the layout and dimensions of the structure
- Perform various tasks related to ironworking, including but not limited to:
- Concrete pumping
- Renovating structures
- Installing stucco
- Trim carpentry
- Drywall installation
- Flooring installation
- Caulking
- Restoring structures
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment as required for the job
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working on-site
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Steel Fixer in the construction industry is essential.
- Must hold a valid CSCS Card (Blue Steel Fixing Card advantageous).
- Proficient in interpreting construction drawings and plans.
- Knowledge of different steel fixing techniques and methodologies.
- Familiarity with various hand and power tools used in steel fixing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an ironworker or in a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans accurately.
- Proficient in various ironworking techniques and practices.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor as required.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions effectively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies in the field.
