Our client are supporting the delivery of one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects β Sizewell C β and seeking a Senior Environmental Manager to join the ground engineering works team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project-specific requirements
- Develop and implement environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategies
- Prepare and maintain key documentation (CEMPs, water/nuisance/pollution plans)
- Apply for environmental permits and liaise with regulators as required
- Monitor on-site performance and advise on air, noise, water, waste, and ecology measures
- Conduct inspections, audits, and support incident investigations
- Provide training and promote environmental awareness across teams and subcontractors
- Track and interpret emerging environmental regulations, providing guidance to project teams
- Analyse environmental data and contribute to internal reports and meetings
- Ensure accurate reporting and client communication on environmental performance
Requirements
- Degree in an environmental discipline (preferred)
- IEMA Associate membership
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within construction
- Strong IT, communication, and project management skills
- Proactive, solution-focused mindset and ability to work independently
