We are seeking experienced engineers to support and lead the delivery of a major project within a design and build (D&B) environment. Working on a complex, high-profile development in Birmingham, you will play a key role in coordinating engineering activities, supporting site operations, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role is suited to candidates with experience in large-scale infrastructure or major building projects, ideally with exposure to fast-paced, multidisciplinary construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Engineer
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of site engineering works
- Assist with setting out, surveying, and dimensional control
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and design information
- Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Assist in preparing method statements, risk assessments, and temporary works documentation
- Monitor progress against programme and report issues or delays
- Support quality assurance and quality control processes
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Assist in resolving technical and construction-related issues on site
- Senior Engineer
- Lead and manage engineering activities across defined areas of the project
- Oversee setting out, surveying, and engineering control on site
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and site teams
- Review and coordinate design information, resolving buildability issues
- Approve engineering drawings, temporary works, and technical submissions
- Ensure works are delivered in line with contract requirements and specifications
- Manage coordination between design, construction, and subcontractors
- Lead quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with standards
- Support planning, sequencing, and delivery of complex construction activities
- Drive health, safety, and environmental compliance across site operations
Key Skills & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of design and build project delivery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with setting out, surveying, and site engineering (particularly for Senior Engineer level)
- Knowledge of temporary works and construction methodologies
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
- Previous experience on major building, infrastructure, or similar complex projects
