Reporting to the Operations Director, the Contracts Manager will oversee multiple rail and civils projects across the region, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for project teams, commercial performance, and HSQE standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of rail and civils infrastructure projects across the North West region
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and in line with agreed commercial targets
- Lead contract negotiations with clients and ensure contracts are in place prior to project commencement
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to project and site management teams
- Take overall responsibility for HSQE standards across all projects, promoting a strong safety culture
- Ensure Construction Phase Plans, Health & Safety Plans, Environmental and Quality documentation are in place and maintained
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements and client expectations
- Ensure projects are appropriately staffed with competent and qualified personnel
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Monitor project performance against tendered methodology, programme, and budget
- Support commercial teams with reporting, valuations, and provision of accurate project information
- Maintain effective communication with clients and other contractors to ensure safe and efficient project delivery
- 10+ years’ experience in rail infrastructure contracting at a senior level
- Strong knowledge of rail/civils delivery and HSQE systems
- IOSH Managing Safely (minimum)
- SMSTS
- Proven ability to manage multiple live projects
