About Our Client: Our client is a leading specialist electrical contractor delivering complex electrical infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Operating within sectors including data centres, pharmaceuticals, renewables, healthcare, and critical infrastructure, the company provides expertise from pre-construction and design coordination through to installation, testing, and commissioning. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking both Senior Electrical Estimators and Intermediate Electrical Estimators to join their expanding pre-construction team in Armagh.

Role Overview: The successful candidates will support the preparation of competitive, accurate, and commercially robust tenders for major electrical projects. Working closely with engineering, commercial, and project delivery teams, you will play a key role in securing future work and supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical installations and infrastructure projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Support bid strategy, risk assessments, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, design, and project delivery teams.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of tender packages.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and commercial standards.

Senior Estimator – Additional Responsibilities

  • Lead the tender process from enquiry through to submission.
  • Review and validate estimates prepared by junior team members.
  • Develop cost optimisation and value engineering solutions.
  • Engage directly with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support the development of estimating team members.

Intermediate Estimator – Additional Responsibilities

  • Support senior estimators on large-scale and complex bids.
  • Take ownership of specific work packages within tender submissions.
  • Develop technical and commercial expertise through structured progression.
  • Assist in managing multiple tender opportunities simultaneously.

Requirements:

Senior Estimator

  • 5+ years' experience in electrical estimating within a contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of large-scale industrial, commercial, or mission-critical projects.
  • Proven experience delivering successful tender submissions.
  • Strong commercial awareness and risk management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.

Intermediate Estimator

  • 2+ years' experience in estimating, quantity surveying, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Ambition to develop a long-term career in estimating.

Desirable Experience

  • Data centre, pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure projects.
  • Pre-construction planning and value engineering.
  • MV/LV electrical systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Design & Build project delivery environments.
