ICBCS (“ICBCS”) Global Markets offers sales, structuring, and trading expertise to our clients across a range of products, with particular strengths in Emerging Markets. Global Markets comprises of two core divisions, namely Commodities and Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC).
The Commodities business provides trading, sales, working capital solutions and structuring expertise through its Metals and Energy teams. The division\’s expertise extends to the management and financing of physical commodity inventories across these asset classes.
The FIC Division offers a comprehensive set of foreign exchange, interest rates, credit, money markets, capital markets, and structured financing products. It is subdivided into two business areas:
- FX Rates & Credit comprising Local Markets Trading & Strategy, Credit Trading, Treasury Markets, and Investor Sales teams
- FIC Origination, Structured Solutions and DCM comprising FIC Origination Teams; Structured Solutions Trading, namely Collateralised Financing (Collateral Trading, Structured Derivatives and XVA), Structured Financing, and QAD; and Debt Capital Markets.
Our clients include Financial Institutions, Corporations, Governments, and Institutional Investors around the world.
What you’ll be doing
Act as a supporting member of the Debt Capital Markets team and to support the DCM Syndicate and Origination and Execution activities of the team. The role will also include close cooperation with the relevant client coverage functions in order to assist the DCM team with the positioning of the DCM product offering with existing and prospective clients of ICBCS and with the broader ICBC Group, including ICBC HO and the relevant international ICBC Branches.
The role will be a Certified Person under the Senior Manager and Certified Person Regime and will be expected to comply with the regulatory conduct rules under the regime.
You’ll be responsible for
- Support the team to develop direct DCM client contacts at decision making level with ICBC(S)’s Corporate, FI and Sovereign client base.
- Assisting with the team\’s business management to ensure adequate and timely reporting of P&L. Jointly with the Junior Manager of the desk to take ownership of deal files to ensure adequate and complete deal files for each completed deal on the desk.
- Support the preparation of Daily/Weekly written market updates to DCM clients that are ICBCS target names. Updates across credit, rates, and equity markets.
- Assist in the preparation of frequent indicative pricing updates to key target clients, in particular driving efficiencies in updating comparables, working with syndicate to update pricing, and ensuring pricing updates are delivered according to a regular, pre-determined schedule.
- Support the execution of active and passive book running / debt underwriting roles and to contribute to the successful execution of DCM mandates from inception through to completion of mandates.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Ideally a completed CFA I, II and III.
- Display objectivity and integrity to clients and ICBC stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a teamwork mindset is required with an ability to converse, engage and close deals with issuers on multi-product level with key decision takers at our clients.
- Understanding of risk and control.
- Finance / budget management.
- Knowledge of Financial Markets.
