The AI and Innovation department delivers robust, scalable, and secure AI solutions across the bank's global platforms, acting as a business-facing service provider dedicated to advanced technology, operational excellence, and innovation. This group supports the bank's extensive footprint in Asia, the Americas, and other regions. The department is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive catalogue of AI products and services. In addition, the function manages the portfolio of end user managed applications (EUMA) platforms ensuring these applications—created and maintained directly by business units—are governed with proper oversight, operational resilience, and alignment to technology and risk management frameworks.
The AI Engineer will design, develop, and support enterprise-level AI solutions in accordance with the organisation's AI governance, risk management, and strategic goals. The AI Engineer advances and integrates AI technologies throughout global platforms, strengthening business agility and regulatory alignment. This position is key to developing strategic AI capabilities that deliver business value safely, reliably, and at scale, supporting unified data foundations, embedded risk controls, and delivery.
- Design and implement custom AI systems, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), MCP based extensibility, agentic AI architectures, and context/prompt engineering.
- Integrate AI solutions into enterprise systems and software, ensuring technical fit and operational resilience.
- Productionise solutions using the Microsoft ecosystem, including M365 Copilot Extensibility, Power Platform, and Azure-based AI engineering.
- Conduct AI suitability assessments, proof-of-value evaluations, and contribute to prioritisation of use cases.
- Deliver AI solutions through a full SDLC framework, ensuring compliance with change management, documentation, testing, and release processes.
- Apply the organisation's AI governance model in full, supporting due diligence, risk assessment, documentation, explainability, and monitoring requirements for all AI systems—reflecting the bank's emphasis on secure, ethical, compliant AI adoption.
We're looking for the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale AI or GenAI solutions.
- Strong working knowledge of AI/ML, NLP, LLMs, embeddings, agentic systems, RAG, MCP, and associated design patterns.
- Deep familiarity with Microsoft enterprise stack and Azure-based AI tooling.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, model governance and monitoring practices.
- Solid understanding of AI governance, model risk management and responsible AI principles—including transparency, fairness, explainability and data privacy.
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to simplify complex concepts into actionable solutions.
