City St George's, University of London is continuing a strategic expansion of its Media and Communications offerings and seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Fashion Marketing & Strategic Communication. The Department of Media, Culture and Creative Industries draws together academic staff specialising in Advertising, Creative Writing, Culture and Creative Industries, English, Marketing Communication, Media Management, Media and Communications, Media Production, Public Relations, Publishing and Strategic Communication. The department is committed to maintaining the high quality of our teaching.

The successful applicant will have a good first degree (Communication, Media, Marketing, Public Relations, Fashion or a related field) and industry‐derived expertise related to Fashion Marketing and Strategic Communication. Candidates should be able to teach and design modules (as well as supervise and examine UG and PGT dissertations) in a way that is industry‐focused and socially relevant.

Specifically, the successful candidate will be able to teach most or all of the following modules from our BA Communication, PR and Advertising and our MA Fashion Marketing and Strategic Communications, MA Public Relations and Strategic Communications and MA Marketing Communications degrees:

  • Fashion Brand Storytelling (MA)
  • Digital and Social Media Fashion Marketing (MA)
  • Digital Consumers and Markets (MA)
  • Media Relations (MA)
  • Reputation Management (MA)
  • Social Media and Community Management (MA)
  • Introduction to Marketing (UG, Y1)
  • Public Relations (UG, Y2)
  • Strategic and Marketing Communication (UG, Y2)
  • Promotional Campaigns (UG, Y2)
  • Fashion Communication (MA)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher able to engage and enthuse a diverse student body that includes international students as well as students from widening participation backgrounds. We are also looking for a new colleague who is a team player and willing to collaborate to strengthen the undergraduate and postgraduate Media and Communication courses and contribute to other programmes in the department, including CPD, short courses and so on.
