Urgent care is where your clinical judgement matters most. You’ll assess and manage patients across urgent care settings, including UTCs and home visiting, seeing a wide range of acute and undifferentiated presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make confident, timely decisions prioritising clinical need, managing risk, and determining the most appropriate care pathway (treatment, referral or escalation).
  • Use your full clinical skillset, including face‑to‑face care and telephone triage through Clinical Assessment Services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, NHS 111, ambulance services and acute trusts to ensure safe, joined‑up care.
  • Develop interests in areas such as frailty, end‑of‑life care, paediatrics and complex acute presentations.
  • Progress toward senior roles, including Clinical Navigator positions, providing system‑wide clinical oversight.
