A leading engineering development organisation is seeking a Test Engineer to support and deliver testing activities on electro-mechanical machines within a dynamic and innovative environment. You will work closely with project teams to plan, execute, and analyse verification, validation, and benchmarking tests.
Key Responsibilities as the Test Engineer:
- Manage and operate dyno test facilities, including setup, commissioning, and maintenance of test jigs and fixtures.
- Plan and perform tests, tear-downs, verification, validation, and competitor benchmarking activities in line with project schedules and company processes.
- Develop and implement test automation using NI LabVIEW for electric drive system testing following engineering standards (e.g., BSI-60034-1).
- Collect, process, and validate test data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
- Produce detailed technical reports evaluating product performance and test results for internal and external use.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience in an engineering development or test environment, preferably in electro-mechanical machine sectors (e.g., automotive or industrial).
- Strong understanding of electronics measurement principles.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems, sensor/transducer integration, and signal conditioning.
- Experience working with PXI data acquisition hardware, particularly NI PXIe chassis and cards.
- Proficiency in NI LabVIEW programming for test automation and data acquisition.
- Experience with MATLAB or equivalent software for data analysis and presentation.
- Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical test reports.
