We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on technically challenging projects within a high-performance, defence-related engineering environment. This role offers the opportunity to develop robust mechanical solutions for demanding applications, contributing across the full product lifecycle—from initial concept through to design, manufacture, and integration.
- Mechanical design and development of components and assemblies using CAD tools
- Design for manufacture, including machining, welding, and fabrication considerations
- Manage design data and documentation using PDM systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electronics and manufacturing engineers
- Support prototype build, testing, and iterative design improvements
Requirements:
- Proficiency with a CAD package (SolidWorks preferred; CATIA, Creo, or AutoCAD also considered)
- Strong background in mechanical design, manufacturing, and design for manufacture (DFM)
- Experience designing for welding and fabrication processes
- Basic understanding or experience with PDM (Product Data Management) systems
- Experience designing for integration with electronics and PCBs
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes
