We're currently working with an innovative, Cambridge-based Telecommunications company seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer to take on the responsibility of ensuring their RF Module Designs meet customer requirements and can be produced in high volume. This role involves guaranteeing that their products seamlessly integrate into customers' applications, both electrically and mechanically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure RF modules meet specified requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external IC design teams working on integrated digital tunable capacitors, Power Amplifiers, Low Noise Amplifiers, RF switches, digital interfaces, and power management solutions.
  • Integrate design blocks on our multi-chip module for low loss, high-performance implementations.
  • Optimise layouts for size and performance.
  • Collaborate with applications, systems, algorithm, and software teams to optimise module performance in the application.
  • Define and deliver the module test plan in collaboration with internal stakeholders and test teams.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, highly innovative start/scale-up environment.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively.
  • Document results and share work with team members.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in developing modules or sub-systems for high-volume production.
  • Knowledge of low noise, low power, high linearity design techniques for 4G/5G RF front-end modules.
  • Proficient in RF fundamentals: impedance matching, Smith charts, passive RLC, filter designs (pole/zero analysis), linearity, harmonics, etc.
  • Electronics experience and familiarity with standard interfaces such as MIPI RFFE is advantageous.
  • Experienced in using simulation tools like ADS, Microwave Office, etc.
  • Some experience in using RF test equipment such as Noise Meters, VNA, Spectrum Analyser for Gain, NF, IIP3, and Isolation measurements and troubleshooting.
