Our international client is currently searching for a Senior Power Semiconductor Design Engineer to join the team. The role will involve the design and developing new power semiconductor devices (silicon and SiC) for overvoltage and overcurrent protection products. Leading chip design, modelling, layout, characterization, and qualification activities while supporting manufacturing, process improvements, and new product introduction will all be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and layout semiconductor devices for internal and external wafer fabrication.
- Collaborate with product management, sales, and applications teams to define and develop new products.
- Use semiconductor physics, wafer fabrication knowledge, DOE, SPC, DFM, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize designs and processes.
- Perform device modelling, simulation, characterization, testing, reliability assessment, and failure analysis.
- Prepare engineering documentation, product specifications, and datasheets to support product release and compliance with IATF16949 standards.
- Support transfer of products from development into production.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Significant semiconductor product development experience.
- Proven experience designing power semiconductor devices in silicon or SiC.
- Strong understanding of:
- Semiconductor physics
- Wafer fabrication processes
- Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Failure analysis and reliability testing
- Electrical characterization techniques
- Experience with semiconductor CAD/design tools such as Silvaco.
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
