We are supporting a technology company in Edinburgh developing advanced solutions for high-speed optical communications. They are looking to add an FPGA Engineer to their R&D team, working on next-generation network monitoring and data processing platforms.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex FPGA-based systems within a multidisciplinary environment. You’ll be involved in the design and development of FPGA subsystems, contributing across architecture, RTL design, and verification as part of a wider product development team.

The position will involve developing FPGA IP, building System-on-Chip designs, and creating verification environments to ensure performance across high-speed communication systems. You’ll work closely with other engineers to deliver reliable, production-ready solutions within tight development cycles.

They are looking for an FPGA Engineer with the following background:

  • Familiarity with AMD/Xilinx or Intel FPGA toolchains
  • Experience with high-speed digital systems and multi-clock designs
  • Understanding of timing analysis and full FPGA design flow
  • Experience working in a collaborative engineering environment
  • Experience with optical interfaces, SERDES, or telecoms protocols would be advantageous.
