Job Description
A growing technology business in Letchworth is looking for a capable and experienced Project Manager to support and lead the day-to-day execution of technical product development projects across hardware, software, and mechanical disciplines.
You’ll be joining a tight-knit team working on end-to-end product development for industrial electronic systems, with a high degree of autonomy and influence. As such, you’ll act as the anchor for delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams, monitoring timelines, and ensuring clear communication both internally and with external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Leading projects across electronics, firmware, and mechanical development from concept to production
- Overseeing day-to-day progress, managing milestones and interdependencies, and stepping in where needed to resolve blockers
- Collaborating with design and engineering teams to ensure smooth handovers and steady progress
- Acting as the point of contact for cross-site communication and alignment, including colleagues in Canada
- Supporting and enhancing the use of Microsoft DevOps for project planning and tracking
- Reporting into the Technical Lead and supporting him across project governance and delivery
- Promoting a delivery-focused, agile culture that can respond to changing customer requirements
Experience:
- Experienced Project or Programme Manager, comfortable leading without micro-management and able to hold technical teams to task
- MUST have proven experience delivering complex product development projects in a technical environment (electronics/firmware ideally)
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, reprioritise when required, and communicate clearly across engineering, production, and leadership
- Comfortable working in a hands-on R&D environment – this isn’t a pure process PM role
- Familiarity with working tools such as Microsoft DevOps
Location & Working Model:
- Based in Letchworth
- Preference for being in the office during probation
- Hybrid flexibility available after probation (3 days onsite minimum)
