We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in electric motor design to join an innovative engineering team developing high-performance electromechanical systems. This role focuses on the mechanical and thermal design of electric machines, ensuring robust performance, reliability, and manufacturability across the full product lifecycle. You will be involved in the design, validation, and transition to production of advanced motor systems, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver solutions that meet demanding performance, durability, and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver motor designs that meet performance, durability, and cost requirements
- Ensure mechanical and thermal integrity of motor systems across all operating conditions
- Define, execute, and maintain structured validation and verification plans
- Lead and support FMEA and risk mitigation activities
- Support prototype build, testing, and validation of motor designs
- Drive successful transition of designs from development into production
Experience Required
- Proven experience in electric machine / motor design, with a focus on mechanical and thermal aspects
- Experience designing rotor systems, including magnet retention and high-speed operation
- Strong understanding of stator construction and winding integration
- Hands-on experience with motor build, testing, and validation activities
- Experience conducting and leading FMEA and failure analysis
- Understanding of thermal management approaches, particularly air-cooled systems
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering environments (mechanical, electrical, systems)
