We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our clients engineering team developing electric machine technology. You will play a key role in the mechanical and thermal design of electric motors, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, high-performing products for demanding applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver motor designs that meet performance, durability, and cost targets
  • Ensure mechanical and thermal integrity of motor designs across all operating conditions
  • Complete and maintain robust FMEA and risk mitigation activities
  • Define and execute structured validation and verification plans
  • Support successful validation of designs through build and testing activities
  • Support the transition of products from development into production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in electric machine / motor design, with a strong focus on mechanical and thermal aspects
  • Experience designing rotor systems, including magnet retention and high-speed operation
  • Knowledge of stator construction and winding integration
  • Practical hands-on experience with motor build, testing, and validation
  • Experience conducting and leading FMEA and failure analysis activities
  • Understanding of air-cooled thermal management approaches
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
