We’re supporting a specialist engineering business developing advanced power electronics technology for high-performance electrification applications. They are looking for a Lead Hardware Engineer to provide technical leadership across hardware development activities, supporting products from early concept through to validation, manufacture and release.

As Lead Hardware Engineer, you’ll be involved in hardware architecture, power electronics design, design reviews, validation planning, risk management and technical decision-making. You’ll work closely with software, systems, mechanical and test engineers while providing guidance and support to other hardware engineers within the business. The role covers high-voltage electronic systems, power conversion hardware and production-focused product development, with a strong emphasis on reliability, manufacturability and cost-effective design.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Significant experience in electronic hardware or power electronics design, including ownership of products through validation, release or manufacture
  • Good understanding of high-voltage systems, power conversion, control electronics or associated hardware
  • Experience with structured engineering processes such as design reviews, FMEA, DFM, DFT, validation planning or risk management
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers or take ownership of hardware delivery
  • Comfortable working across software, systems, mechanical, test, manufacturing and supplier teams
