I'm recruiting for a Field Service Technician to join a global engineering business, working with advanced equipment and supporting customers throughout installation, commissioning and ongoing service. It's a varied role where you'll be out in the field, diagnosing problems, getting equipment up and running and helping customers get the best possible performance from their systems.
You'll be responsible for:
- Installing, commissioning, servicing and maintaining customer equipment
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults both remotely and on-site
- Providing customer training on equipment operation and maintenance
- Supporting system testing and customer trials alongside Sales and Applications teams
- Carrying out customer acceptance testing and optimising system performance
- Producing accurate service reports and technical documentation following site visits
We're looking for someone with:
- An HNC/HND, Associate Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Ideally 5+ years' experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Technician or in a similar role
- Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics
- Experience installing, commissioning, servicing and maintaining industrial equipment
- Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial control interfaces would be advantageous
- Confidence using diagnostic tools and test equipment
- A full, valid driving licence and willingness to travel as required
