As they expand operations across the UK & Europe, they are seeking a hands-on and strategic Development Manager to lead their engineering team, which includes software development, DevOps, and testing teams, ensuring the delivery of secure, high-quality communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Software development, DevOps, and Test Engineering teams (team size = 6-8 in total).
- Define and implement development strategies, including DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Oversee the development and execution of test strategies, plans, and reports.
- Ensure development processes are embedded across the software lifecycle.
- Support secure and compliant deployments for government and public sector clients.
Skills/Experience Required
- Proven experience managing or leading software development, DevOps, QA teams in a technical environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working on mission-critical or secure systems (e.g., public safety, defence).
- Knowledge of public safety protocols (e.g., MC-PTT, P25, TETRA) or 3GPP standards.
- Experience working with or for UK Government departments (e.g., Home Office, MOD).
