Commutable from Portsmouth, Southampton, Winchester and the surrounding areas, an exciting opportunity for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer has become available. The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the development and validation of innovative technology for the automotive industry. The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will work within an established talented team, where tasks include taking designs through the complete design cycle into production, including simulation, design, prototype build and testing as well as producing required documentation.
Other responsibilities include:
- High power inverter design (>30kW to 100kW, 300-800V)
- Microcontroller hardware implementation
- Digital motor control schemes for a variety of motor technologies
- Develop circuit schematics
- Ensure EMI / EMC standards are met
The ideal candidate will be educated to a degree level in electrical or electronic engineering and have a demonstrable background in the following:
- Motor Control
- Inverter design for EVs and Hybrid EVs
- SMPS design – DC-DC, AC-DC
- Gate drivers
- Semiconductor devices – IGBTs, MOSFETs, SiC & GaN
