A Principal Analog IC Design Architect is sought to join a growing and successful company situated in Reading, UK working on Power Management ICs. Working within a dynamic and experienced team of engineers, the Principal Analog IC Design Architect will be working on developing power management blocks including capacitive DC-DC converters, charge pumps, linear regulators and buck controllers. The position will include feasibility studies, design and evaluation, as well as liaising with product engineering functions.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting Marketing in defining new products through feasibility studies and technical competitive analyses
  • Schematic capture, IC layout, simulation, package analysis, evaluation board design, design validation
  • Product Documentation
  • Working with test engineers to ensure testability is incorporated in the product during design
  • Project Management including development of resources and schedules

Industry degree qualified, the successful applicant will have a minimum of 10 years experience in Analog IC design in CMOS with experience in some or all of the following: Switch Mode Regulators, Buck and Boost Regulators, DC-DC converters, charge pumps, linear regulators, buck controllers, bandgap voltage references, low-drop out voltage regulators, switches and operational amplifiers. Experience working on highly customised Power Management architecture definition is required including experience in: Cadence Composer, Cadence Virtuoso, Verilog-AMS, C. Experience in SOI processes is an advantage.

You will be a strong team player who is willing to both teach and learn where appropriate, display technical expertise and architecture level understanding whilst keeping your technical skills current.
