The UK Semiconductor Centre (UKSC) is an industry-led organisation whose remit is to strengthen the UK semiconductor industry and build upon its impressive international success to date. With committed support from government, UKSC will have the time and resources to establish long-term initiatives that will supercharge the success of UK semiconductors over many years. This will positively impact the whole of the UK’s ‘deep tech’ ecosystem and economy.

IC Resources has been tasked with helping to establish the founding leadership team and one of these key hires is for a Technology Director. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and articulating the UKSC technology strategy, ensuring it reflects national strengths and international opportunities. The role requires recognised expertise in semiconductor technologies and the ability to engage credibly with government, industry, academia, and international partners.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development of the UKSC technology roadmap and research priorities
  • Provide authoritative guidance on emerging semiconductor technologies and trends
  • Represent UKSC as a recognised expert in national and international fora
  • Support investment and partnership decisions with deep technical insight

Suitable candidates will have senior technical experience in defining and innovating semiconductor technologies, recognised authority and thought leadership within the semiconductor ecosystem, and a proven track record of leading major R&D or innovation programmes.

The UKSC will be based in Kings Cross, London and will offer a hybrid working model. A 4-day working week may also be an option.
