A UK-based technology company is seeking a Director – Hardware Architect to take on a highly influential, Director-level individual contributor role. This is a fully remote position, with office visits as required, offering significant impact on long-term technology direction without people management responsibilities. The Director – Hardware Architect will operate at system level, shaping strategy, architecture, and future hardware roadmaps.
The role includes:
- Owning system-level hardware specifications and architectural definition
- Defining hardware strategy, long-term roadmap, and technology direction
- Leading architecture decisions for complex, high-performance electronic systems
- Defining and managing hardware/software interfaces and system partitioning
- Working across multidisciplinary teams
- Acting as the technical authority, guiding design team leaders without being hands-on in detailed design
Skills necessary:
- Strong background in system-level hardware architecture and specification
- Experience defining strategy and roadmaps for complex electronic platforms
- Deep understanding of high-speed interfaces and protocols
