My client is a successful and fast growth data intelligence and security risk management tech company. They are now embarking on an innovative strategy integrating tech solutions to their strong data analytical capabilities, and are looking to hire a Head of Software to spearhead that strategy. You will be playing a critical role in leading the growth of their tech offering, data capabilities, people & organisational strategy.
Responsibilities
- Developing and executing a comprehensive data, analytics, and software strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Working closely with the executive team on building the company's technology offer as part of their strategic direction.
- Leading and building a high-performing Tech Team encompassing software engineers, data analysts, data engineers, and IT professionals.
- Have ultimate accountability for technology strategy and delivery whilst contributing to the longer-term vision, delivering the highest impact for their customers. This role will initially be managing a team of 14 engineers and team leaders with plans to grow.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in managing tech teams as a technology lead or a key technology management role.
- Many years in a senior or leadership position and at least one role that was for a start-up, small business, or autonomous business unit.
- You are an entrepreneur, thriving in ambiguous environments, embracing the start-up culture as a “doer”, aspirational and resourceful.
- You are commercially astute, capable with costing models, and proposal inputs.
- You are an effective communicator, able to contribute fully to corporate discussions with direct technical expertise.
- Software engineering background, primarily based around their core data capabilities of Big Data, Python, Databricks, AWS, Azure.
- Ideally, you will have a background of working within data analytics/data intelligence organisations.
- Strong experience designing, building, and supporting infrastructure in cloud environments.
- Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts and patterns.
- Info and data security.
This is a hybrid role - their offices are located in central London. Please note - it is essential that you have SC clearance, or are eligible for it.
