An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Engineering to join a growing technology company in Stevenage. As Head of Engineering, you will take responsibility for leading multidisciplinary hardware and software teams, driving product development from concept through to delivery. The role of Head of Engineering will combine hands-on technical understanding with strong leadership, ensuring efficient design processes, high engineering standards, and successful project execution.

Responsibilities:

Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team across electronics, software, and systems.

Define engineering strategy, processes, and best practices to support company growth.

Oversee product development lifecycles from concept through to production.

Collaborate with senior leadership to align technology roadmaps with business goals.

Support recruitment, mentoring, and career development within the engineering function.

Requirements:

Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.

Proven experience leading hardware and software teams in product-based environments.

Strong technical foundation in electronics, embedded systems, or instrumentation.

Excellent communication, project management, and organisational skills.

Experience in scaling engineering teams and implementing structured processes.
