We are looking for a Director of Physical Design to join the UK branch of our multinational IC design client. Based in Berkshire, this role will see the Director of Physical Design taking charge of the company’s backend design practice and managing the delivery of cross-disciplinary projects. The Director of Physical Design will build and manage a growing team of digital backend designers, as well as DFT and analog engineers. This person will also establish the Backend "eco system" – partners, suppliers (FABs, EDA vendors), etc. This role will be a mix of people-management, leading pre-sales activities and some hands-on work.
The right candidate will be:
- A seasoned expert in the field of Digital Backend / Physical Design, with an in-depth understanding of the RTL-GDSII flow
- An experienced leader with strong people management ability
- Capable of effectively managing project delivery, in terms of quality, cost and schedule
- An excellent communicator in English
Hybrid working is available from our client’s Berkshire design centre, which is easily accessible from the M4.
