Join a company who are looking to excel in their field and become industry leaders in aerospace communication. They are looking to grow their team by adding a talented and motivated technician with experience in soldering techniques to be responsible for producing high-quality hardware builds. You will be hands-on with cutting-edge hardware and tackle real-world engineering challenges whilst working towards a shared goal of developing an antenna platform that solves power consumption and heat problems. The Electronics Technician will have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities of the Electronics Technician (lab-based):

  • Perform soldering opportunities at PCB level using both through hole and surface mount component soldering techniques to IPC standards
  • Read and interpret schematics and work instructions to understand soldering requirements and specifications
  • Prepare components for PCBs for soldering, including cleaning, tinning, and flux application as necessary
  • Inspect hardware builds for solder connection quality, completeness, and conformity to IPC standards
  • Modify and rework faulty components as necessary through inspection and debug methodology

Skills needed for this Electronics Technician:

  • Experience of soldering electronic components – IPC qualified
  • Through hole soldering and surface mount rework experience to IPC certification
  • HND/HNC in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

Desirable:

  • Hands-on semiconductor test experience and methodologies including wafer probe, packing testing and Automates test systems
  • Familiarity with test software programming languages (e.g. LabVIEW, Python)
