This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to take technical ownership of complex mechanical products, from early-stage concept right through to manufacture and validation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading mechanical design from concept through to manufacture
- Taking technical ownership of complex hardware programmes
- Designing robust products for challenging environments
- Driving improvements in reliability, performance and manufacturability
- Working across materials, thermal management, structural design and sealing
- Leading prototyping, testing and product validation
- Championing DfM / DfA throughout the design process
- Providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Mentoring and supporting engineers while remaining hands-on technically
What they’re looking for:
- Background in aerospace, defence or another highly demanding engineering environment
- Strong 3D CAD skills — SolidWorks, Siemens NX or similar
- Proven experience taking complex products from concept to production
- Strong hands-on prototyping, testing and validation experience
- Experience leading technical projects and making key engineering decisions
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across multidisciplinary teams
