We are looking for a hands-on Test Engineer to design, build, and operate custom testbeds supporting our clients' hardware development. You will play a key role in validating performance, durability, and compliance of cutting-edge systems across a range of demanding environments.
- Plan and execute static, dynamic, fatigue, thermal, and vibration testing in line with internal specifications and international standards.
- Operate and maintain environmental chambers, vibration tables, structural test rigs, and data acquisition systems.
- Analyse test data and translate results into clear, actionable design recommendations to support rapid product iteration.
- Support the development, selection, and setup of testing infrastructure within ARD’s in-house R&D laboratory.
- Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to improve product robustness and reliability.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline) with a strong practical portfolio.
- ~3+ years of hands-on prototyping experience in a workshop, lab, or R&D environment.
- Familiarity with UK, EU, and US testing standards and certification requirements.
- Proven ability to design hardware test systems and develop or use automated test software.
- Comfortable working independently within a small, high-performing engineering team.
