Working as part of a fast-paced engineering team, you will contribute to the development of advanced, high-precision systems and technologies used in demanding space applications.
The RoleYou will play a key role in the design and development of precision mechanical components and assemblies for cutting-edge space systems. The position offers involvement across the full product lifecycle, from concept and analysis through to testing, validation, and production release. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will help deliver robust, manufacturable solutions capable of operating within highly demanding environments.
Required Experience & Skills- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience in mechanical design engineering within a high-precision or advanced engineering environment
- Strong CAD experience for detailed mechanical design and manufacturing documentation
- Experience using FEA and/or hand calculations to support engineering decisions
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and ANSYS is preferred
- Strong Design for Manufacture (DFM) knowledge, particularly relating to precision metal components, CNC machining, and material selection
- Proven experience producing manufacturing-ready drawings and tolerancing to ISO BS 8888 and GD&T standards
- Experience with opto-mechanical or high-precision mechanical systems, including alignment-critical assemblies and thermal considerations, would be highly advantageous
