An exciting new opportunity has opened for a Principal Electronics Engineer to join a technology-focused engineering team in Cambridge. As Principal Electronics Engineer, you will take a leading role in the design and development of advanced electronic systems, working across the full hardware lifecycle from architecture through to validation. The role will involve driving technical decisions, leading complex hardware development, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the design and development of complex analogue and digital electronic systems.
  • Define hardware architecture and guide projects from concept through to production.
  • Oversee schematic design, PCB development, and component selection.
  • Support prototype bring-up, testing, and debugging activities.
  • Collaborate with embedded software, firmware, and mechanical teams to ensure successful system integration.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers within the team.

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in analogue and digital circuit design and PCB development.
  • Strong understanding of hardware development processes from concept through to production.
  • Experience leading complex engineering projects or providing technical leadership.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams.
