Join to apply for the Mechanical Design Engineer role at IC Resources. We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team within the defence industry. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects, developing robust mechanical solutions for demanding environments. You will be involved throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through to manufacture and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical design and development of components and assemblies using CAD tools
- Design for manufacture, including consideration of machining, welding, and fabrication processes
- Supporting thermal simulation and thermal modelling activities
- Working with PDM systems to manage design data and documentation
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including electronics and manufacturing
- Supporting prototype build, test, and iteration activities
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience with a CAD package, preferably SolidWorks, or alternatives such as CATIA, Creo, or AutoCAD
- Strong background in CAD design, manufacturing, and design for manufacture (DFM)
- Experience designing for welding and fabrication
- Exposure to thermal simulation or thermal modelling
- Experience using, or a basic understanding of, PDM (Product Data Management) systems
- Design for integration with electronics and PCBs
- Experience with additive manufacturing
