Business Manager – Semiconductor Division

This is a great opportunity for a Digital ASIC Engineer to join a leading semiconductor company based in Cambridge but HQ’d in Silicon Valley. They supply high-performance components for high-voltage power conversion. Their products are used in consumer electronics, appliances, and LED lighting.
This role offers exposure to the full ASIC digital design flow, allowing you to develop skills in Synthesis, DFT, and Floorplanning.
This position is ideal for someone eager to be part of a collaborative team and open to learning new skills. It provides variety and the chance to contribute across multiple areas of the design process.
As a Digital ASIC Design Engineer, you should:
- Hold an MSc/MEng or PhD in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Have at least 3 years’ experience in digital IC design.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of digital design best practices.
- Be experienced with a fully synthesised digital design flow using RTL and logic synthesis.
- Have experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Be familiar with constraints and the automatic place-and-route flow for physical design.
- Have experience in optimizing digital power consumption techniques.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Developing functional digital blocks and contributing to complete mixed-signal ASICs from definition to production.
- Completing RTL design in SystemVerilog to meet specifications.
- Creating block-level test benches for verification.
- Developing behavioral models and top-level test benches for system verification and regression.
- Executing digital synthesis with physical constraints to meet PPA requirements.
- Defining and implementing DFT architecture, including scan insertion and ATPG.
- Designing digital layout floorplans, overseeing place-and-route, and ensuring timing closure.
- Generating documentation and participating in reviews.
- Contributing to process and methodology improvements.
